Ceramic Studio In A Box are proud to introduce the world’s finest Artist Marker Pens
Copic Ciao Markers are a high quality professional marker pen available in 144 colours. They are used in
illustration and design. The Japanese company Copic developed the Sketch marker pen which was extremely
successful in their market place. Just under 10 years ago the Copic Ciao was introduced to fill a gap in the
market place for the beginner who wanted the same qualities as the original Sketch, but had a smaller budget
to play with.
All Copic pens contain non toxic ink and the Ciao Marker has a child-safe cap perfect for Ciao markers are
also refillable.

What is the difference between the Copic Ciao and the Copic Sketch pens?
1. The Sketch contains more ink.
2. There are 344 Sketch colours.
3. The Sketch pens are slightly larger than the Ciao.
4. An airbrush has been specially designed for both the Sketch and Copic which fit
perfectly.
One slight disadvantage is the Sketch pens are twice the price of a Ciao, but hold much more ink. If
I was asked which I prefer I would have to say I use both. I like the Ciao as it is smaller to hold
and a better shape in my hand and I love the brush end.
Ciao are the perfect choice for the beginner with 143 colours and one 0 blender which is a large
another choice for most people and the price is right. Once you see how fantastic they are you may
then choose to buy Sketch Markers of your most used colours as they have more ink in them.

How to use these pens
These pens can be used for Architectural and Industrial Design, Animation, Fashion Design, all types of Illustration and general Advertising. In recent years the Hobby market has found the pens invaluable as very useful with the Card Makers and Scrapbooking fraternity.
Copic Markers were the first alcohol/ethanol based dye pen with very little odour. They are also fast drying and will not smear. The coloured cap allows you easy colour identification.
One of their unique qualities is that they will not destroy lines printed out by a laser printer or standard photocopier. This is due to the fact that the toner-based devices and the toner are fused to the paper so the alcohol ink from the markers will not destroy it, therefore you can print out outline drawings and colour them in.
The pen is also perfect for use with rubber stamps. The lines will not bleed when you use a permanent ink. When sketching with the pens you can go over the design as many times as you like and it will not make the paper peel. Copic markers work best and last longer when they are used on Layout or illustration paper. Using the correct paper will make the pens last much longer and it also makes it much easier to blend your colours as the colour stays on the surface rather than been absorb into the paper.
The pen is double ended, one has a hard chisel edge for large areas and the other is almost like a brush, soft and pliable with a fine point for getting into the smallest areas of your design. The Ciao has 9 different interchangeable nibs available which enable you to sketch, colour and even do Calligraphy.
The pen is opaque (it has solid coverage characteristics) and there are no hard edges making it quite different from a normal felt pen. This is achieved by working the pen in a circular movement across the paper making it perfectly smooth and even as it absorbs into the paper. You can achieve a solid flat colour and then, using another pen a few shades or two apart, colour in the appropriate areas which totally brings the subject to life without any hard edges
The colours can be blended on the surface or layered one on top of the other and 99% of the time the lighter
pen will not take up the colour of the darker pens, but if it does you scribble on paper you will soon
remove the unwanted colour.
If you should make an error the o marker pen which is ethanol based will remove it altogether or simply
lighten an area to give a highlight.
Even the non artist will find these pens a delight to use. You will definitely achieve the “wow” factor.
We at ChromaColour are the largest Animation Supplies Company in the world and felt it very appropriate to
stock the most talked about and “hottest” product on the market today. They are great to use and the results
are second to none.
