The kiln is a very important part of your business and the most expensive item. The ability to use your kiln effectively is vital to successful firing. Rachel will teach you how to load & set up the firing programme and how to maintain your kiln.

We offer 4 different kiln sizes 47, 93, 140 and 198 litres. The 47 litre kiln is our smallest kiln and is a plug-in model, which will save you the cost of having your kiln wired in.

The 47 and 93 litre kilns are suitable for home use and the larger 2 for the business environment. The 198 and 140 come with a Single Phase power supply. All our kilns come equipped with kiln furniture.

All double wall kilns have 2 1/2" brick plus 1" of block insulation in the walls. Lid Lifters included on all 10 and 12 sided kilns.

No need to clamp it down, just place it on your table and the rubber feet will hold it in place while you effortlessly roll your slab. Slab dimensions are 16" by 18". Assembly required.

Main features of the Tucker Kiln

Because of the double wall more heat is kept inside the kiln and the temperature is constant. You fire with more consistency, saving electricity.

Our kilns have 2/3 thermocouples to monitor temperature inside the kiln. Most other kilns only have one. The computer monitors the temperature in all three areas of the kilns and automatically adjusts the output to keep the temperature constant.

Our kilns have an element on the floor as well as the walls. Other kilns do not have this feature. This assists in the maintenance of a constant temperature which is so important to flawless firing. This also helps if firing glass.

This kiln fires to Cone 10 EASILY. Most top loaders will struggle to do this efficiently as they are built for earthenware firings, and front loaders are more suitable for the traditional potters market. Our kiln matches both criteria - being hotter than other kilns.

It also has 8 "Segments" or stages that you can programme for firing. Other kilns normally have only 4. This allows you to fire glass with more success as the temperature can be controlled while it is cooling. If you are a sculptor you can fire your pieces more slowly.

Our kiln can be dismantled and taken apart in sections to allow you to move it around more easily. This would only normally apply when installing or if you needed to move locations; useful all the same.

Perhaps the most attractive feature is that our kiln, because of its double wall is more energy efficient and uses 30% less electricity than other kilns. The walls are 3 1/2" thick versus most other kilns with only 2" thick walls. This saves you money EVERY time you fire.
